Manchester has a plethora of wonderful restaurants to stay from late morning until the afternoon, including venues serving your food in a birdcage or those offering Japanese-style dishes for something a little different from the usual full English. If you want to try the best bottomless brunch in Manchester, make sure you sample at least one of these venues. They’re the finest that this vibrant north western city has to offer, and all include at least 90 minutes of drinking time as well as delicious food. .  

1. The Pen & Pencil

Located in the city’s hip Northern Quarter, The Pen and Pencil is a bustling all-day venue serving food and drinks from brunch to cocktail hour and beyond. With an industrial feel, the bar and eatery is open daily from 10am until late.The bottomless brunch menu is available on the final Saturday of each month – and is well worth waiting for. You can order one dish at a time from the list, which includes a Mexican bean muffin, eggs royale, shakshuka sourdough or steak and eggs. To accompany it, sip the cocktail special, stick to a Bloody Mary or drink as much prosecco as you like. 

2. Gaucho

Primarily an Argentinian steakhouse, Gaucho is located in a former church on Deansgate with the original organ taking centre stage. You may, however, be distracted by the edible offerings when the ‘Electro brunch feast’ is available.Pick between dishes such as the Choripan sandwich or chilli mushrooms on toast, or dive straight into the banana bread or dulce eton mess when you need a quick sweet fix. Drinks to accompany your early feast include the Pornstar Martini, Jack Daniels and lemonade or an Aperol or Elder Spritz.

3. The Foundry Project

If you want to experience a hearty bottomless brunch in Manchester, The Foundry Project is the place. You can eat and drink as much as you like for two hours, and beverage options include mimosas, Bloody Mary, bellinis and Prosecco.Food-wise, you’re looking at smashed avo on sourdough, a dirty bird burger, the hangover pizza, American-style sweet pancakes, poutine fries and more. While it might not be the most healthy of choices, it makes for the perfect comfort food after a late night.

4. Manhatta

Yes, you read it right – at Manhatta the only ‘n’ is in the Deansgate location. The bottomless brunch here is a firm favourite, and includes unlimited quantities of the orchard apple, wild berry, orange blush or Aperol spritz as well as Coors beer, Bloody Mary or Prosecco. The menu includes around half-a-dozen picks, or you can upgrade to add another six choices. This is worthwhile, as it adds steamed chicken bao buns, cod bites with katsu curry sauce and the New Yorker burger to the list of options.Those with a sweet tooth, however, may be perfectly content with nothing but the Reese’s buttermilk pancake stack.

5. Menagerie

Menagerie is an ultra glam venue offering hen parties, afternoon teas, baby showers – and of course the bottomless brunch. Here the emphasis is on hosted events, and the brunch parties include service from a team of Menagerie angels.The venue will provide any required decor and entertainment in addition to the food and drinks. Once you’ve booked, all you and your guests need to do is turn up, all ready to party.

6. Cottonopolis

With a name harking back to Manchester’s past as the centre of the British textile industry, Cottonpolis occupies a Grade II building in the Northern Quarter. Although the venue is Japanese-style, the Balearic brunch menu calls to mind the island clubs a little closer to home. One dish is included with the bottomless brunch, plus guests have 90 minutes in which to quaff as much prosecco, cocktails or beer as they like. Food options include Japanese favourites like bao buns and sushi, or you can go for more traditional picks like cured salmon, mushrooms on sourdough or poached egg with chilli jam and avocado salsa.

7. Peaky Blinders Bar

The brunch menu at Peaky Blinders Bar also includes delectable bites served to you in a birdcage. This is available from late afternoon on Friday and from midday on Saturday. A good selection of drinks includes Peaky Blinder pale ale or gin, four house cocktails, Symonds cider, Whitley Neill gins and Peaky Draught lager. Your food comes as a meat or vegetarian platter, including nibbles like beef sliders, lamb koftas and cumberland sausage lollipops or veggie samosas, halloumi fries and beetroot and ginger bites.

8. Dirty Martini

Dirty Martini offers something a little different – those booking the bottomless brunch here can marvel at the sight of it served in a birdcage. Photogenic limited edition cocktails, beer, G&T, martinis or fizz are also offered alongside.Again the bottomless brunch window of opportunity lasts for 90 minutes, and in this time you can devour the contents of your gluten-free, vegan or standard brunch birdcage. 

9. All Bar One

The Manchester bottomless brunch at All Bar One runs until 4.30pm daily, though you must arrive by 3pm at the latest. Again there are standard and upgraded options, the latter adding Long Island iced tea and espresso or porn star martinis on top of prosecco, gin & tonic or fruit daiquiris.Brunch dishes to pick from include chicken quesadilla, a cheese burger and chips, or eggs Benedict, Florentine and Royale, as well as full English, vegan and veggie breakfasts.

10. Slug & Lettuce

The Slug and Lettuce is another chain doing a bottomless brunch in Manchester – and doing it very well. The version at their Deansgate pub includes two hours of eating and drinking, with one dish per person served alongside Amstel lager, Bloody Mary, prosecco, mimosas or an Aperol Spritz. The food menu includes upgrade options like a rump steak sandwich, Southern-fried chicken burger or avocado and halloumi sandwich. On the standard menu you can also choose a full English breakfast with veggie and vegan versions available. Or opt for porn star, forest fruit or American-style pancakes.
