A lymphatic drainage massage is a gentle form of massage therapy that is performed to stimulate the body’s lymph system. The idea is that waste products can then be removed from the body more efficiently.
“Excellent massage, very relaxing & my first lymphatic drainage massage but will definitely be booking again. Thank you Sophie!”
“Kassie is a wonderful beauty therapist. It was my first lymphatic drainage massage and so she explained the benefits of it for me. The massage itself was wonderful. Light but effective. I can highly recommend her.”
“First time having Lymphatic Drainage so I had very little idea of what to expect. Valdirene was professional, informative and went through the process with me.”
“Had an amazing lymphatic drainage massage with Charmaine. She was very professional and tailored the massage to my needs. Would definitely recommend Charmaine.”
We always advise having a hot shower or bath before your mobile lymphatic drainage massage. This can help you to relax your muscles before your treatment begins and may also help improve muscle recovery after the massage.
We want your experience to be as relaxing as possible. Therefore, we would recommend that our mobile lymphatic drainage massage therapist sets up in a room that is private and warm. It’s important to make sure that you have space for the massage bed, which is 6ft long and 2ft wide.
Your therapist will bring everything else for your treatment, including a massage table, towels, relaxing music (if desired) and a selection of essential oils. Please note, that under current COVID-19 protocols we are asking customers to provide their own towels.
Our lymphatic drainage massage techniques include the use of oils, so we recommend that you undress to your underwear for the treatment – or to a level you’re comfortable with. We recommend wearing a dressing gown so you can start your treatment sooner.
On arrival, your therapist will prepare the bed, music and oils and then they will step outside so you can get undressed in privacy. At the end of the treatment, your therapist will leave the room to allow you to get up at your own pace and get dressed.
Please note, it is required that underwear is worn throughout your lymphatic drainage massage treatment.
A lymphatic drainage massage has many benefits, as each massage is tailored to the needs of the individual. The main benefits include an increase in blood circulation, a reduction in swelling and boosted immune function. This is why lymphatic drainage massage can be particularly helpful for people suffering from conditions such as lymphedema and fibromyalgia. Although everyone is able to reap the benefits of this popular massage type.
Your professional massage therapist will follow a particular sequence for your massage. They’ll incorporate a series of massage techniques, including stretching, compressing, gliding, and cupping motions to give you the best benefits.
They’ll use light rhythmic movements to stimulate the lymphatic system. This makes the lymph fluid move easily through the nodes and tissues, ensuring the fluid doesn’t get trapped anywhere.
If you have any specific requests regarding your mobile lymphatic drainage massage, please contact us on 0207 096 0506 or bookings@secretspa.co.uk prior to booking. Your massage therapist will carry out a consultation prior to the treatment in order to tailor your treatment to your specific needs.
You should always ensure your lymphatic drainage massage therapist is aware of any injuries and allergies you have, as well as areas of your body you wish for them to give extra attention to. It’s important to discuss with your therapist the pressure you wish to be applied before and during the treatment.
We advise that you seek advice from a medical practitioner regarding whether lymphatic drainage massage therapy is appropriate for certain medical conditions.
If you have had one of our masseuses before for a massage and would like to request the same person again, you are able to search for your preferred therapist on our website or app and book directly in their diary.
We recommend using our app for bookings to make use of our Favourite Professional feature. This allows you to save and request your favourite therapists from previous treatments. Our app is available for iOS on the App Store.
