BEFORE
DON’T have a spray tan in your first trimester of pregnancy
DO exfoliate and moisturise thoroughly at least 24 hours before the spray tan, with special attention to elbows, knees, heels, and hands using a non-oil scrub and abrasive mitt
DO wax or shave at least 24 hours before the spray tan
DON’T apply any moisturiser, deodorant, perfume or makeup before your spray tan
DO shower before your spray tan to ensure no moisturiser, deodorant, perfume or makeup is left on the skin
DON’T wear makeup or jewellery to your spray tan appointment (unless not easily removed)
DO think about what you’re going to be wearing after your spray tan. If there’s a certain bikini or swimsuit you will be wearing, try it on to ensure there are no unwanted white lines. Most people go for just a thong, naked or a strapless bikini. We can provide a disposable thong if necessary.
AFTER
DO wear loose, dark clothing for the rest of the day or night after your spray tan, remembering your feet, flip flops are best!
DO not shower for at least 8 hours (where possible, sleep in the tan to let it develop overnight)
DO not exercise or sweat excessively after your spray tan, it could influence the development.
DO moisturise regularly using an oil-free moisturiser as this keeps your spray tan longer.
DO choose cool showers over baths to prolong the life of your tan. Pat dry with a towel, never rub
DON’T get in contact with leather until you have showered - it will stain.
DON’T get into contact with oil as this will strip your spray tan
DON’T wax or shave as this will also strip your spray tan
DO exfoliate after 5 - 6 days if you need to, only on rough areas like knees, heels and elbows.
DO have a long bath on the 7th or 8th day of your tan to soak it all off using exfoliator, to ensure your skin is tan-free before your next one. Applying tan on top of previous tan can cause uneven development.
